About this site

Wooster Food Review covers restaurants in Wooster and the rest of Wayne County, Ohio. The idea is simple. Go to the place, film the food, check the address and the hours, and write down what is worth knowing.

Who makes it

I am Chad Tennent. I live in Wooster, I run this site, and I write everything on it.

The video series is called Local Eatz. Kassandra is the host you see on camera in the episodes filmed so far, because I hired her to front the series. She does the eating on screen. The writing here, the dish picks and any opinion on this site are mine, and it would not be fair to either of us to blur that. Where a review carries a personal verdict, my name is on it.

Going forward I am doing the reviews myself, and new episodes will be mine on camera as well as on the page.

No star ratings

There is no score out of five on this site. A number like that tells you almost nothing and it is very easy to make up, which is exactly what the last version of this website did before it got torn down and rebuilt.

Instead each review names one dish. Most of the time that is the house signature, meaning the thing the restaurant itself is known for, and the page tells you where that claim came from. When I have eaten there and formed my own view, it says my pick and my name is on it.

No ads and nobody pays

There are no adverts here, no affiliate links, no pop-ups and no sponsored posts. Restaurants do not pay to be featured and cannot pay to change what is written. If any of that ever changes, it will say so plainly at the top of the page.

Getting things wrong

Hours change, kitchens change, places close. Everything on this site was checked against the restaurant's own listing when it was written, but it will drift. If you spot something out of date, or you run one of these places and we got a detail wrong, send it through and it gets fixed.

Somewhere we should go?
